A note on sourcing

About Jebal Gems

Jebal Gemsis a small, owner-run mineral house based in the UAE. We source ethically — directly from the basalt quarries of the Deccan Traps in Maharashtra, India, the world's foremost zeolite locality — and curate pieces for collectors, designers, and gift buyers.

Every specimen is documented with origin, dimensions, and a short story. We're not interested in bulk commodity crystals; we're interested in pieces that hold up in cabinet light at three meters and reward closer inspection at thirty centimeters.

Where they come from

Sixty-five million years ago, one of Earth's largest volcanic events flooded the Indian subcontinent in basalt — the Deccan Traps. As that lava cooled, trapped gas left cavities, and over millions of years mineral-rich water grew crystals inside them: apophyllite, stilbite, heulandite, calcite, and the rare blue cavansite. Every specimen we carry was born in those cavities, in the quarries of the Western Ghats.

How sourcing works

We build long relationships with the diggers and small-scale traders at the quarries, and document provenance where possible. Pieces are inspected in person before they are listed.

Shipping & payment

We ship locally within the UAE and globally on request. Payment for first-time buyers is by bank transfer or card; serious collectors typically settle by direct transfer. Reach out via WhatsApp or email and we'll handle the rest.
