Apophyllite Geode Chalice on Carved Basalt Foot

Maharashtra, India
$345AED 1,639
One specimen — when it's gone, it's gone.

This is a natural basalt amygdale — a gas-bubble cavity from the 65-million-year-old Deccan Traps lava flows — that a lapidary has worked into a chalice: the geode was cut open and its rim ground to an even, goblet-like bowl, while the crystal pocket inside was left completely untouched. That interior is all natural growth — blocky, glassy apophyllite prisms with a white stilbite blade at the centre, framed by patches of dark-green celadonite and warm salmon-pink stilbite across the basalt walls. The bowl is displayed on a separate cut basalt foot that lifts and presents it like a goblet. The result is part natural specimen, part lapidary object: the minerals are exactly as the Deccan Traps formed them, the chalice form and stand are human craftsmanship — a conversation-starting centrepiece for a mineral collection or a contemporary interior.
