Druzy Quartz Geode Half with Amethystine Pocket
Formed inside a vesicle within Deccan Traps flood basalt, this geode preserves three distinct mineralisation stages: first, silica-rich fluids deposited the banded chalcedony agate that forms the warm orange-brown outer rind; next, successive layers of druzy microcrystalline quartz built up a sparkling white interior crust; finally, a trace of iron lent the last-forming crystals in the deepest pocket a soft amethystine (pale lavender) blush. The dark basalt inclusions embedded in the rind are original fragments of the host rock, confirming the piece was not artificially shaped. Sourced through the Shaikh family's long-standing network of small-scale collectors in Maharashtra, this geode is a self-standing natural display piece that requires no preparation or stand.
