White Druzy Quartz Cluster with Calcite Point
This compact specimen is entirely composed of secondary silica and carbonate minerals deposited within a basalt cavity of the Deccan Traps volcanic system. The main body is a tight druzy crust of milky-white microcrystalline quartz, whose countless tiny faces produce an all-over shimmer. Rising from the center is a single larger, translucent to cream-colored crystal — most likely a calcite rhombohedron or a stubby quartz point — representing a later, slower phase of crystal growth within the same void. Such composite specimens are common in Maharashtra quarry material and record the changing chemistry of the hydrothermal fluid over time. Sourced by the Shaikh family from the Deccan Traps amygdule zones of Maharashtra, this is an honest, unenhanced cabinet piece.
